Mandal

Mandal is Norway’s most southerly town, and one of the oldest in southern Norway. Mandal is situated in the estuary of the river Mandalselva and has a rich history of salmon and timber. Parts of the town still show evidence of historical times with attractive old white southern Norwegian houses along narrow streets. Buens Kulturhus, the multi-purpose house of cultural, lends an air of modernity to Mandal, too, and this is reflected in the many cultural offerings, large and small, that are hosted here. Mandal could be called the Live capital of Norway,
