Grave finds in Bokn

Several discoveries of ancient monuments testify that Bokn has played a central role in history. If you are arriving by car from Stavanger travelling to Haugesund, the trip goes through Bokn island municipality. After driving across the bridge from western to eastern Bokn, you can see on either side of Boknasundet both a stone monument and a burial mound from the Early Bronze Age. In 1923 a gorgeous gold buckle from the Viking era was found near the mound.
